We teach Ryukyu Kempo (Freestyle Karate & Kickboxing), Kyusho Jitsu & Tuité Jitsu but our focus is on the combative aspect of the martial arts and even though these arts could be called traditional, we teach them in a modern way, which simply means that the techniques taught have a practical use against attacks that happen in the real world. The UCAA's Freestyle Karate class is a unique blend of all the arts Grandmaster Kierans has studied over the years. Along with teaching the combative aspect (soft & hard skills), we also focus on improving a student's fitness levels. We place a great emphasis on Strength and Conditioning in our programme, simply because, in order to fight, you need to be Fit to Fight . Self Defence starts with the Self, so our goal is to train you to be physically fit and mentally strong in order to help you confront the adversities of life with confidence.
If you have never trained in a martial art before then now is a good time to start. We cater for all levels of ability so, if you are unfit, don't worry.
